The Commercial Security Consultant is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing tailored security solutions for commercial clients. This role combines consultative sales expertise with technical knowledge of security systems, including intrusion detection, access control, fire alarms, and video surveillance, to design and deliver solutions that meet client needs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

The Commercial Security Consultant is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing tailored security solutions for commercial clients. This role combines consultative sales expertise with technical knowledge of security systems, including intrusion detection, access control, fire alarms, and video surveillance, to design and deliver solutions that meet client needs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Drive growth by building new customer relationships, while maintaining existing ones, within an assigned territory.
- Communicate with new prospective clients to identify and understand their business and security needs; identify and suggest solutions based on those needs.
- Design and present solutions and proposals to clients in a clear and consultative manner.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of core product solutions while staying abreast of current market trends.
- Conduct client site assessments to evaluate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Develop relationships with relevant industry partners.
- Identify new clients by researching and creating networking opportunities.
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Utilize CRM for sales activity and backlog reporting.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and compliance standards (e.g., NFPA, UL, local fire and safety codes).
- Participate in trade shows, networking events, and business development opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or relevant field.
- 2+ years of outside sales experience is required.
- Excellent communication, organizational & interpersonal skills.
- Excellent sales & negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to travel
