This Special Hazard Service Technician role involves working directly in underground and above-ground mines, servicing various vehicle fire suppression systems. The position requires hands-on work in mining environments. Pay: $22-$24/hour DOE.

This Special Hazard Service Technician role involves working directly in underground and above-ground mines, servicing various vehicle fire suppression systems. The position requires hands-on work in mining environments. Pay: $22-$24/hour DOE.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate in areas such as mine fields, quarries, and landfills.
- Work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Design, install, and maintain various special hazards fire suppression systems.
- Inspect and maintain systems including clean agent, industrial dry chemical, carbon dioxide, foam, and wet chemical suppression systems.
- Perform system inspections involving detection control wiring, piping, and mechanical components.
- Reference manuals, code books, and other technical resources.
- Complete numerous reports, paperwork, and documentation.
- Communicate with customers, onsite personnel, and internal team members.
- Drive service vehicles to job sites (extended driving required).
- Upon reaching competency in servicing underground suppression systems, learn and perform installations on mobile mining equipment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- MUST have a Black Hat.
- At least 2 years of experience within Special Hazards.
- Experience with Clean Agent gas systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA Requirements.
- Basic understanding of blueprints, schematics, and other technical specifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders, pull cables, and work in confined and high spaces.
